One-Alone

“One-Alone”, graphite, 2000.

When is a dragon not a dragon? When it’s an elemental spirit that can fly through stone, create a home out of the ocean, and make a sanctuary of the fires within the earth, perhaps. One-Alone is not, strictly speaking, a dragon, but she’s a close cousin of the species. With a few twists. Do you know it’s dang hard to draw someone that keeps changing forms, second to second, and rippling like light under water?

Here’s my attempt at capturing her in clay.

Do you still have some paintings of dragons, fairies and fantasy in colors of greens and golds?
I remember some from years ago and am looking to purchase one.
Any chance of seeing some pictures?

    Your cousin, Carol Watkins
