Clay is the stuff of creation, a material for sculpting both bowls and beings. I enjoy making both functional and sculptural work, and love mixing up the two on occasion.
“Water”, stoneware and oils, 2006.
“The Watcher”, direct plaster modeling, burlap, hemp fiber, glass, 2006.
“Remnants”, stoneware, acrylic paint and underglaze, 2006. Getting it into the kiln was a nightmare. Getting it out was easy, as it was in multiple pieces by then. I love epoxy. It saves my life.
“Privatized Planets”, mixed media, 2006.
“Layers of the World”, garbage-fired terracotta and twine, 2006.
“One Alone”, raku clay and acrylic paint, 2005.
“Grow Your Own Minions”, plaster and tapioca, 2005.
“Organic Tableware”, sculpture, 2005.
“Barnacle Tray”, sculpture, 2005.
